Our Meca quartz movements
In every V5 chronograph, a quartz movement sets the pace. It was not without reason that battery-powered movements triggered a new era in the 1970s. With their unmatched accuracy and longevity, they are the perfect companions for everyday life. Low maintenance, a battery life of up to 5 years and that paired with a rate deviation of maximum 20 seconds per month.
Precision down to a fraction of a second
The Mioyta 6S20 in our watches has a chronograph in addition to the date and time. This is partially mechanical (Meca quartz) and measures the time, not as in an ordinary watch in 1-second intervals, but equal to 4x per second. So the second hand of the chronograph ticks, similar to an automatic watch, from the center, several times per second. At the same time, the totalizer at 3 o'clock shows the stopped tenths. To quickly reset the timer, the lower pusher can be pressed again while the timing is still running. Miyota calls this function HCRS (Heart Cam Reset System).
The chronograph is definitely the durable highlight of the V5 collection. The sporty character is not only underlined with the 6S20, but directly gets a whole new level. Making improvements in endurance sports recognizable, measuring pauses between sets in weight training or timing when the noodles are ready.
Miyota is a subsidiary of Citizen Watch Co. Ltd. founded in 1959 and has since been producing high-quality movements for quite a few brands.
